Privacy Policy

The short version

Your files stay on your device. LocalKit tools read files you select with the browser File API, process them in page memory (JavaScript, WebAssembly, canvas), and let you download results. We do not operate a file-upload backend, and we do not receive your images or archives on our servers.

What we do not collect from tool use

• We do not upload, store, or transmit the contents of files you open in LocalKit tools.
• We do not require an account or email to use the tools.
• Closing the tab discards in-memory blobs (subject to normal browser behavior).

What the website may collect

Like most static sites, hosting and optional advertising may process limited technical data:

• Cloudflare Pages / CDN: standard request logs (IP, user agent, URL, timestamps) for security and reliability. These logs concern page views, not your file contents.
• Google AdSense (when enabled): Google may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. See Google’s policies. Until you replace the placeholder publisher ID, ads are layout placeholders only.
• Third-party script CDNs: pages may load libraries (e.g. heic2any, exifr, fflate) from jsDelivr. Those requests fetch script code—not your files. Your images are not posted to the CDN.
• Anonymous traffic counts: a first-party beacon records only the page path and site name (no cookies, no fingerprinting, no personal data) so we can see aggregate pageviews.

Cookies & local storage

Core tools work without cookies. We may use sessionStorage only to remember if you dismissed the mobile sticky ad placeholder. AdSense, if enabled, may set its own cookies.

Children

LocalKit is a general utility site not directed at children under 13. Do not share others’ sensitive photos without permission—though again, uploads to us do not occur.

Your choices

• Use a tracker blocker or disable third-party cookies if you prefer.
• Work offline after assets load if your browser cache allows.
• Prefer Safari’s native HEIC path or Chromium WASM—both still local.

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The date above reflects the latest substantive revision.
